Grill-Off to Feature Celebrity Chefs & Judges, Including Robert Irvine, Suzanne Tracht, Ernesto Uchimura and Rear Admiral Daniel Dwyer; ‘The Love Boat’ Star Jill Whelan and Ms. Woman California 2017 Athena Fleming to Host the Competition.

On Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 3, 2018, 11:30 a.m. – 1:15 p.m., Culinary teams from the US Sea Services and Royal Canadian Navy are gearing up for a clash of spatulas at LA Fleet Week® 2018’s Labor Day Galley Wars cooking competition presented by Princess Cruises. One of the final signature events of LA Fleet Week, the timed competition challenges culinary specialists from different military branches to create their best grilled dish, sides and dessert in just 30 minutes for presentation to a panel of celebrity and high-profile judges.

The event is free and open to the public and is featured on the LA Fleet Week Bob Hope USO Delta Air Lines Main Stage at the LA Waterfront in San Pedro, CA, Galley War Competitor Teams are from the Fleet Week docked USS Dewey, USS Scout, USCGC Alert, HMCS Ottawa.

Host of this year’s Galley Wars competition is Jill Whelan, Celebrations Ambassador for Princess Cruises, self-proclaimed foodie and actress best known for her role as Vicki Stubing, the Captain’s daughter on the hit television series, “The Love Boat.” Co-Host and official event timekeeper is Athena Fleming, a US Coast Guard veteran and winner of Ms. Woman California 2017.

Hosted by Jill Whelan, actress from ‘The Love Boat’ and Athena Fleming, US Coast Guard Veteran and Ms. Woman California 2017, the Judging Panel includes Celebrity Chef Robert Irvine, Chef and LA Restauranteur Suzanne Tracht, Restauranteur, Princess Cruises Culinary Partner Ernesto Uchimura, US Navy Rear Admiral Daniel Dwyer.
